Hi!

So I am full of questions today. I plan on opening in Jan/Feb 2013. I am opening regardless, but i was wondering what the competition was like around here. I live in St. Catharines, I see ads here but i dont know what it means. For example if i see 10 daycares advertising.. do 10 daycares out of 20 have spots? or is it just 10 daycares out of 100 that have spots?
What are my chances of filling up (4 kids) charging 35? what about 40?
I live in a nice neighbourhood, I have a seperate room for daycare, nice backyard and am a 1min walk from an OEYC with a huge park.

thanks for the help!

I think the competition here is the same as any city or town. There are a lot of home daycares in this city I think, but, there is a market for it. It may take you a while to fill up (it has taken me almost a year to fill up), but it can be done. I think that $35 is starting to become the going rate around here, $40 may be stretching it as there are a lot of people advertising at $20-25 a day.
