re: 1yr old dcg post below

I'm so mad right now that I'm shaking!
I'm mad that I didn't DO what I wanted to DO! I'm mad of their selfishness and plain rude! and I'm mad that they feel they have the right!!!!!

Mom drops dcg off this AM and says "she's sooo cranky and crying all morning" Great, thanks for the heads up of a crappy day. Then proceeds to tell me that dcg DID have a diarrhea yesterday but it was her only BM. HELLO did I NOT say that if she has it within 24hrs she can NOT come????? What are you stupid??? I SHOULD have said somthing right then and there! Why didn't I hold my ground??? ahhhh

Then as she's leaving she turns to dcg to say bye and says "mommy will come get you tonight at 5:15-5:30" I then look at her and say OH so you're going to be late today?? (P/U is at 5:00 for her and always has been) She says "o yeah...." and leaves!!!!!

OH MY GOD!! I'm seriously SOOOO aggravated! I'm so tempted to call her at 10 and say dcg has a loose poop again, come get her....with my $$ for the week"!!

LAST DAY! I already have her things packed in a bag ready to hand over and do a happy dance once the door hits her in the ass!!!

Why, oh Why was I so stupid! Who the hell do they think they are??? And do they think this bullsh!t will be ALLOWED at the montesorri???????

So sorry you are dealing with a selfish woman there Mamma Mia. Don't you have a late fee?

I have a family who does this and every single frikking time it's on a day when I have to be somewhere. But it's because the Dad has meetings and he does his best to arrange for a grandparent to pick up in this case, but once in a while he just has to be late. The fact that he is always making arrangements when this happens means I'm not so mad at him when he has to be late once in a while. Also, he has even given me a ride once when I was supposed to be somewhere and he had to be late.

It's all about being considerate of your home childcare provider!!!

Do you not get paid in advance?

No, it's deff. not common in my area. I'd never get clients if I asked to be paid in advance....

oh wow! If it makes you feel any better I probably would have done the same thing. It's hard to stick to your rules at the door. Especially when the client sees nothing wrong with it. Congratulations on your last day with her. You can do the count down.

remember it's Friday! You're going to feel so good when your day is done tonight. :)

RE paid in advance...really? I get paid in advance, as does my SIL in Whitby. I actually think it's the norm.

I got a LOT of "oh you want in advance hummmmm" (funny face) and then no sign ups! Myabe I just need to be firmer about it.

Would anyone mind sharing the wording they use for pay in advance? I think I'll re-do my contract and see how this goes .... please

Mine says "payment is due bi-weekly on Fridays by 5:00pm for the following two weeks of care. Any days off due to caregiver illness will be unpaid and adjusted in the next pay period. Accepted methods of payment are cash and EMT. "

Mine also says payment is due on Friday for the following week. I do have one Mom who gave me postdated cheques and dated them for the Monday, but I was okay with that since I don't get to the bank until the weekend anyway and a cheque dated Monday can be deposited on Saturday.

Well, it's almost over MammaMia. I would tell you to have a big glass of wine but you can't do that! How about a big chocolate bar. Celebrate!

Thanks!!!

It's over! Mom came early to come get her and I'm so relieved. She was a sweet baby (when she wasn't screaming....so 2hrs of a day). But not having to worry about carrying a 24lbs 1yr old who's not walking or doing anything herself and being pregnant myself wasn't easy.

Mom was very Thankfull and paid in full (something I was worried about since they we're home 3.5 days this week) and even gave me a Starbucks gift card! I was shocked!

Now to look for just one more dck :) it's enough for now lol

My contract states that payment is required within the first two days of the week for that weeks care. i.e. monday or tuesday. otherwise a 25$ late fee will be added. all but 1 of my parents pay ahead a month now, never used to but after getting a few late fees and reminders of payment due they decided monthly "ahead" would be easier. OK with me!
