Ha ha....just wanted to share how much I hate interviewing!!! I'm getting ready to reopen early next year after mat leave and am dreading the whole process! Interviewing always makes me feel like I'm the new girl at high school ha ha! I am grateful that we are in a position where we do not 'need' my income which allows me to be extremely picky with who I'll take on. Still doesn't make it easier....have to go through the whole process all the same! On a positive note...for those of you looking to fill spaces, the drought may be coming to an end!! I have been getting a lot more serious responses to my ads! Good luck everyone!

Where abouts in Ontario are you? I am in Niagara Region. I have had lots of enquiries, its just not to many are full time right now. They will come up though, I'm sure. I have just had 2 spots open up so I will be interviewing now too. I don't mind the interviews at all.

Bright...I'm western GTA. I have been advertising for a few months and seriously would have weeks go by without even an email! Then mainly requests for my rates, but am now getting the people who I would actually consider interviewing!!

WW, I also think that interviewing is the crappiest part of our job! I hate it! You have to quickly clean your house and work an extra couple of hours every night selling your daycare and your program and yourself to families instead of having your evenings to relax. I'm always so happy with I find the perfect family really fast. It burns me out when I don't have any time to myself in the evenings.

I live near downtown in my city and there hasn't been a lull in enquiries for my daycare all this year but I don't have any spaces open so every time people are talking about not getting any responses to their ads I keep shaking my head. Location is key I guess. It's the old feast or famine rule. When you are full it seems like people never stop contacting you.

I hope it can trickle all the way to me, I am having a heck of a time filling my last open spots after having my big kids go to school. And going "NUTS" in the process, no calls, and the quietest house ever. All my kids are so little now , half of them don't make a sounds half the day, I am bored off my gourd! Glad they are little in a sense, lots of time to grow, securing my job for a few years. But seriously dieing for some real conversation........ ...aaaahhhhhhh!

Kidlove, mark my words, as soon as you are full you will get 10 more calls. It's crazy how that happens. Good luck filling your spaces too.
