For those of you who continually advertise even if you are full. How do you word your ad? Do you just put that you are accepting names for a wait list? Do you interview them or do you just take contact information?

TIA!

I don't advertise continually unless I know I have a space coming up. I see no reason to waste time interviewing if there is little chance fo taking the child. If I was a larger centre then it would make sense but my turnover isn't high enough to be bothered. I do keep all emails and reply to them letting them know if anything changes I will get back to them. Mostly this would be for people who have found me through my website.

I only advertise when I have a space too. I don't want to keep a waiting list so if people contact me when I'm full I redirect them to other caregivers I know in my city. I don't think we should treat each other as competition I think we should support and help each other. There are a few caregivers I've run into at the park who don't want to be friendly. It's like they think I'm the enemy. It's their loss though, because I would be happy to help them out any way I can.

No, if I am full I don't advertise unless I am aware of a pending departure like JK. Yes, Momof4 I do the same thing. I pass out my provider friends names as well. A provider did that for me when I started out and 7 years later I am still getting clients from the company my first client worked for. Karma LOL
