This is soo not like me, I love kids, I have so much fun with them. That is why I chose this profession.. You might remember my post a few days ago about being in the middle of a nasty devorce and the kids were brother and sister... Well I'm kind of glad I terminated my contract.. The boy how is 4 drives me crazy every day!!! This has never happened before.. His voice is so whiney, he asks the same questions 20 times a day, I'm not kidding you.. He complains about everything and doesn't like to join in when we are playing or singing. I feel so bad but he ruins my happy mood. He can be very rude and manipulate the other kids.. Does this make me terrible for being happy he is leaving?

You don't have to like every child that comes through your door. From time to time you will get one that just rubs you the wrong way. Just think of it this way, when you worked outside your home, did you like every one you worked with? I am sure there was at lest one person that got to you. Its the same thing here. So NO you are NOT a terrible person for being happy that he is going.:)

Of course you are justified in feeling relief and happiness that you do not have to deal with this childs annoying behaviour any longer. Who wouldn't?

This exactly .... we do not have to like every child we care for .... just respect them and ensure we treat them fairly ... there are many 'personality traits' and well stages of childhood that are not my favorite part of the job and I look forward to seeming them in the review mirror so to speak ~ as long as there are more positives than negatives I am good to go!

We have all probably had kids that we didnt like for one reason or another, doesnt mean that they dont receive the same level of care as others. Its just different sometimes. Your not a bad person for feeling relief that they are leaving.

I am in the same situation as you! I am jumping for joy! The kids are happier when I'm happy so it's a win, win for everyone!
