I was browsing our local classifieds when I came across a listing for my DREAM job. I applied on a whim and got called in for an interview. Now I've been called for the final round myself and one other are left:) Both of us at this point are being offered a job just one would be an assistant.
I don't know what to do! Please help!

Here's my pros/ cons so far...

Pro's
The job is located across the street from my house.
My sister-in-law can care for my son.
I currently have 1 empty space and one coming up end of march, I'm looking to fill
I am very passionate about the work I would be doing.

Con's
I would only be able to give my families 2 weeks notice to my closing.
There would be a slight pay cut initially.
I'm 5 months pregnant and likely won't be able to get EI if I get the job.
In addition to the 2 empty spaces I have one that is about to be filled the week after I'd be starting this job. I'd feel TERRIBLE letting them know.

Ahhhh!!!

Ooh tough decision for sure! Pay cut is temporary, think long term. More importantly think of yourself and your family first. The rest will fall into place. Good luck to you!

Your dream job? Go for it! Seriously!!!! You have child care in place and it is across the street (nice commute) Look out for yourself and your family. Explain to your clients what has happened and try and help them find alternate care with glowing references for their children. Wow, good for you!!! As for the EI, you don't have to stay home the full year if monies become an issue. Discuss this with your prospective boss.

Tough decision, but I agree with everyone else. If it's your dream job, go for it! Don't sweat the EI thing. I've taken kids as young as 3 months. There are some of us out here who do that and love it, if you need to go back early. Good luck and enjoy having such amazing options :D

I think deep down inside, you already knew what you'd like when you applied for it to begin with. ;)

It depends on if you are willing to not be home long with your newborn. Daycare is not the issue, it's how you feel about missing out on that time with your baby. Other than that consideration it sounds like the job is what you want.

This is why I was so torn! I couldn't imagine leaving baby so early on! So I decided to decline the offer. I can always dream and it's nice to know I'm still employable lol. I just kept getting a bad feeling when thinking about no longer carrying for the children.
