I am interested in hiring an employee to fill in 2 days a week and when I'm sick. I am a soon to be licensed daycare and can only have 6 children. I have offered an option for my employee to bring their child which would take up one of my spots. In addition to their child coming they will get 2 weeks paid vacation.

What is a fair wage to offer her?

Thanks

Does your employee need ECE? Is there programming that she needs to do? (Theme's/circle)
If she's involved with program planning I'd think $13 or $14/hr would be a fair starting point. If ECE is not needed and there is no programming required, then $9 or $10/hr is a place to start. If she goes up and beyond expectations and you'd like to keep her, I'd pay her more. $16/hr ECE and $12/hr without.
Please keep in mind this is just to get you thinking. There is a bit of a range out there. Good Luck!
