Well, today I am absolutely heartbroken...
My favorite family told me that their daughter will stop coming to my dayhome because dcd lost his job last week.
I literally cried for an hour after they left... stupid hormones! So now I'm back on looking for a great family.... This sucks! :(

Oh no...sorry to hear that
This sadly happened to me last year. same deal. Dad lost his job, so they went down to 1 day a week.
This was also/is my golden child. I hope you fill that spot with someone just as wonderful.

So sorry to hear that! I lost my favourite family at the beginning of Feb, it totally sucks. And to make matters worse every inquiry I have had has been a bust, one set up an interview then did not show or call; one called and asked my rates, said she would talk to her husband and call back the next day but never did and the only other inquiry i have had emailed asking for part time for a six month old so i emailed her back saying yes and gave her my rates but again never heard back from her. I am so frustrated right now! Anyway I hope you find an amazing family soon!
Mille, so sorry to hear this. It's not your hormones hon, it's just difficult to lose great clients because they are hard to find. We keep hoping they keep reproducing so we can have them for always. Good luck finding your new clients.:)

Aw, I'm sorry, it sucks a lot when that happens, but it happens now and then. You will find another great family. Sometimes I cry when a child leaves too.

Yeah, I have an interview next week for a little guy to start in august. it would allow me to rest a little before having our baby and recover a little too.
She sounds very nice and is very excited that I offer bilingual care as she is also from Québec! :)
It was nice though, the mom texted me around 6 to ask if I was okay... when she left I was crying allready :o
Good luck with your interview. :)

Yes, best of luck with your interview.
Maybe, I can make you smile. I'm in Ontario and I have a bilingual family in my care. My French was all learned in high school so very remedial. My dcfamily only speak French at home. I love this little boy 17 months old who has been learning English at my house but when I know the French word I say the words together, like red - rouge. Anyway, I want to tell you that he makes me feel so good every day because after I sing songs he always claps and says "Encore, encore, encore". I feel like a superstar!!!
(That's a great feeling for a woman who can't sing very well, heehee)
