So my group of kids have a year and a half left with me until they start school. I do have have one spot open right now and not sure if i should advertise for a infant when i think when the ones i have now are going to leave i want to start looking for teachers kids and have my summers off.
Do any of you take teachers kids? Do you feel like you can relate to them because your pretty much doing what they do? What are your experinces with them?

Ive also thought of taking part time for a monday/wednesday or tues/thrusday spots and have fridays for my apts, family errands. Any of you guys done this as well?

Hello:) I only take teacher's children. My husband is a teacher, so it gives our whole family lots of vacation time together! After a lifetime career working insane retail hours, I feel so blessed to be able to have that time back with my family (& am making more money too!). With 3 other family members within the teaching profession I was able to have an inside into 3 different schools. I don't charge for summers, March break or the 2 week break at Christmas; for teachers this is a huge draw.

Where do advertise for teachers? Do you go on kijiji and put on the ad teachers only!

Do you charge a higher rate to allow for not charging for summers etc? What are your hours like? Do they pick up fairly early at the end of the day too

I have yet to advertise; but you certainly could set up your ad to appeal to teachers (no fee for summers off etc.)
I am at the mid-high range for my town & I budget accordingly...with classroom sets ups/year end it's usually about 5/6 weeks off in the summer (not whole 2 months of summer).
Drop off & pick up times are awesome; my first drop is @ 7:30/pick ups by 4/4:15.
