Same shirts for all daycare kids

I have been thinking on getting bright colored shirts for daycare kids for when we go outside. For the ones who are currently doing this could you give me some advice:

* How do you ensure that you always put the sames shirts to the same child (since all are the same. My kids are all around the same age.

* Do you have 5 shirts per kid to cover the 5 days? Do you have extra shirts in case they get stained? Or how many do you have per kid?

* Do you wash them? Do you give them to parents to be washed?

* Do you know a store where I can get them a good price? I am thinking on adding my logo, too.

Put Numbers on them. doesn't have to be big just on the sleeve would work. Then keep a note of who has which number

Two per kid.

You want the kids to wear them, you wash them. Have the kids help.
As a parent who has to pay for washing I would not be happy if I had to wash them.

if you are in Ottawa there is a place in Lincoln Fields Mall, 2525 Carling Ave, that does shirts. I just don't know the price.

What a great idea! I too would keep them & wash (things tend to go missing when sent home). As well, if you keep them, perhaps you can use them for the next child too! As for size, you can order big and tuck or tie. Love Vistaprint....keep an eye out for T-shirt deals;). I have found if I leave things 'in my cart' on their website they offer further discounts!

I have matching sunhats for park outings (much easier to keep track of all the kids) and I wash them myself as needed. I also put a little symbol on the tag inside each one (heart, square, circle, etc) and assign a shape to each child so that they always wear the same one and I can reuse them for future daycare kids. I was thinking about getting t-shirts as well to make the kids extra visible ;) For me, I would only have one or maybe two max per kid as I would only use them for outings and they would go over the child's clothing. I have seen some daycare providers use pinnies instead of shirts...I like that idea as well :)

I've been considering the tshirts and I think a lovely sunny bright yellow is what I'm going to buy with my daycare name on it in black for advertisement. Of course if I ever have a problem child in the daycare I may leave their shirt at home, hehe, just kidding.

But I do a load of laundry every other night so if I put the shirt on the child to go outside for less than 3 hours when we are going to a park, because we usually leave here just after 9 and arrive home by 11:15 so I can make lunch I think they will be ok for two mornings, totalling about 5 hours of wear before I wash them.

I already have drawstring bags for each of the children and sunhats and sunglasses are supposed to be left in those all through the summer season then replaced with extra hats & gloves for the winter season so we're all set there.

I think I would do sunhats as well. Last summer, I had to fight with some parents to get a hat for their child. At least with that, I would not have to worry about it!

Sun hats sounds a good idea, too. I think I will add them to my shopping list, too.

Dollar store even has some beginning of the year so cheap to pick up quite a few too. Got mine there last year with a nice wide brim - hate wearing hats but figured had to set a good example so if we are in the sun I wear it but if we are in the back in the shade it comes off.

Yes, I love my sunhats! Mine were normally pretty expensive at Gymboree, but were the previous year's stock and on sale...they had exactly five left in two sizes, so I took them all. No logo or anything, but they are bright orange and I love being able to count heads quickly in a busy park. I also love that I don't have to worry about anyone forgetting their child's hat! Another thing, I let my own kids wear their own hats, not matching...partly because I only have five, but also because that helps other people know that I only have five daycare kids...I am not over ratio ;)
