Hi ladies!

For nap time, I have been using cribs mattresses that I put on the floor and I find that they take SO much place so I'm looking for an other solution.
all the kiddos under 2 sleep in play pens and the bigger kids on the mattresses.

What are you sleeping arrangements? do you use big mattresses or some small mats on the floor?

Why not get the cots that you can store on top of each other- that's what they use in bigger centres

I have the stackable cots. When naptime is done I stack them up and stick them in the closet. The children sleep really well on these. I still use PNP for the little one's in separate rooms.

I have cots, too. My kids sleep as well as they did when they were younger and have to sleep in playpens...

I use the crib mattresses too and am considering replacing them with mats. Debating whether to go the mat or cot route but thinking I will do the mats because they will take up less space than the cots do. I have looked at the ones that fold up but figured by the time I folded 3-4 mats and placed them side by side it would take up as much space as stacking 3-4 on top of each other. The downside is the size whereas the crib mattresses even work well with 4-5 year olds due to width and length. By the time you add a pillow you lose space.

I use these http://www.wintergreen.ca/en/furniture/rest-relaxation/heat-sealed-hygienic-rest-mat-pm20 . They fold up and I can just put them on a shelf in the closet

I have the cots and the stack together so they really don't take up much space...possibly less than the mats. I love them as they are really comfy and the kids are off the floor (my kids sleep in the basement and the floor is pretty cool).

Could someone show me what a Cot looks like? I'm not sure what you are talking about! :S

This is the mats I am looking at. They are only three section rather than four. I find with the little ones that with the four sometimes their elbows, butt, knees end up in the cracks and not on the mat whereas with these they should have most of their body on the middle section and you can get 3" thick as well as the standard 2".

Here is a link to the cots from the same company www.avronforkids.com

thx playfelt! I think the matresses that you fold would be better for me since i don't have lots of room!

Compare prices at companies like wintergreen too to see where the best deals are. Not all of them have the three section mat through. I was thinking it looks like the ones you can get that fold up into a stool. A store here in Ottawa jysk sells them for about $39 but they have a cloth cover. Although removable want a wipable vinyl surface.
