Hi,

I'm wanting to start a unlicenced home daycare out of my apartment but I rent. Can I still start one? I would really love to do this. I have already called to get liability insurance for a home daycare .

Thanks

I ran my daycare out of my apartment before...and never had any problems. :D

I ran mine out of a rental house for 11 years without issues.

I run mine out of a rented house. I made sure it was ok with my landlord before I started.

I am in a rented apartment in Ottawa. I just asked at the office if it would be okay and they just said I had to have the "daycare insurance" and then gave my their blessing. I have had no problems.

I'm in a rented apartment as well and I've been in the business for 5 years. Check your city bylaws. In my city you can use 25% of your rental residence as a business.
