Does anyone ever worry about something happening to YOU when you are alone with all these kiddies? I know it may be awful to think about but I have no adult contact for a huge part of the day...I am so worried if something happened to me all these babies would be alone and in danger! Is there anything I can do or put in place to ease my mind?! Or am I the one one that thinks like this?haha

I have always have the same fears... Like if I lost consciousness due to a fall or whatever reason... I think the worst case is that if that happen in the morning by the afternoon parents will find odd nobody is answering the door and maybe kids crying. If I was the parent I would call the police. Hope that never happen to any of us... my play area and sleeping areas are gated so kids do not have access to potential dangers in other rooms, at least that makes me feel better...

Yes, i actually think about this all the time! My husband checks in with me every day in the middle of the day so that is one safeguard I have in place. Once we went to play outside and I forgot to bring my phone...he had tried calling and was about to leave to come and see if I was alive when I finally hear the phone and ran to get it, so I know he would come right away if I don't answer. Also, my entire playroom is gated and child proofed, so that comforts me some...but kids can get into all kinds of predicaments even in a child proofed area (climbing, falling, etc). I am extra careful when I walk up and down the stairs etc as I am terrified of falling and breaking something. I guess I also know that if I were concious, I cuold get one of the older kids to bring my the phone...but if unconcious...I am not sure! Scary!

I actually sliced my finger open last week while cutting apples for after noon nap and I am very afraid of blood. I was sure I was going to faint.
I texted every parents letting them know... Called my husband to come home right away( works 45 minutes away) and called my neighbour to come help out with the kiddos.
I sat outside, in the cold, waiting for my hubby to come back to find out how deep the cut was... Turns out its not that bad but fingers bleed so much!

I haven't really worried about it because I'm healthy. If for instance I fell and broke my leg I know I could get the oldest child to get the phone for me so I could call 911 and the dcparents but if I passed out that would be really bad. I've never been a fainter though so I'm not worried about it.
I speak to my husband at 9 am and then at noon just to say all is well and then he is usually home at 3 pm. I have a phone on the two levels of my home and my cell. The thought of me being incapacitated and the children roaming scares the heck out of me. I also am vigilant with closing the gates behind me even if it isn't necessary, can't be too careful.

I do the same thing as the other ladies. My husband calls every couple of hours (on his breaks) just to check in. Also, my mother lives two doors down, so she frequently pops by or calls.

Yeah I suppose I talk to DH several times a day on the phone, so if I wasn't answering, he'd probably call my neighbour to check in on us.
