Hey All,
I am having some serious naptime problems. My baby sleeps in her won room. My 2 daycare children sleep in the nap room- but they yelp (especially one of them it takes her over an hour to fall asleep if at all). Do any of you have any tips? I need some peace at naptime.
Thanks

I started with a specific "nap room" and that went downhill fast...I now have kids spread ALL over the house because it is the only way I can guarantee a 2-3 hour peaceful nap time! is there any other rooms you can set a playpen up in? I have playpens in all our rooms now and just set them up every morning and take them down right after nap to keep from the daycare taking over my house hehe it also took me some time experimenting with which kids could share a room together (a solid sleeper able to sleep through another child's stirring, etc) I discovered that one child needs to be in a room completely by themselves! Good luck! I hope you figure something out that will work for you!! Oh I also changed my naptime, I used to wait until 1 and then found that the kids were taking along time to fall asleep (overtired perhaps?) now they go down right after lunch (around 12 or 12:30) and they all sleep SOLID now and longer!

I have play pens set up in my bedrooms as well but I never take them down .... Too much work and I look at it as part of the decor ; ). It's a small price to pay for me being able to bring in an income and never leaving the house .... All my dck are in bed by 12:30 and I get them out at 3:15 and I have fans running in various spots so if someone wakes up early or mid sleep cycle and cries it doesn't bother anyone else .

I think you both have the right idea. I don't think I have any other option at this point! For example-my daycare kids go down at 1230 and the one that has trouble with sleeping is STILL AWAKE!!! Not to mention he is now calling after the one that is sleeping! It is too much trouble, not to mention exhausting!

Try the white noise machines. I HIGHLY recommend them. Depending on my day I sometimes have a playpen in my dining room! Put a white noise machine in the room and they can't hear a thing. I have them or a LOUD fan in each of the dck rooms where they nap which currently are my master bedroom, and each of my 3 kids rooms. If its a day where I will have 5 I use the dining room or laundry room for a playpen as well. I suggest separating them.

I use the noise machines as well and they are awesome. I bought mine used on kijiji for little money (they are Conair brand and not expensive to buy, even when new). They have different noise settings.. birds chirping, rainfall, thunderstorms, etc, but I use the one called white noise (like static), and it works great! Totally recommend them.
