Hi everyone,

I have a family who had been with me for about 2 years. They have 2 kids in part time and one is starting school in September and won't be coming anymore. The sibling will only need care for two half days (4-5 hrs). This is the first time I have ever done hours like this and normally wouldn't buy it actually fits my current schedule perfectly! Should I split the daily rate in half? Any thoughts would be great!

Depends which half the child is there for and what you need to provide. Example a child coming for the afternoon and napping or playing alone till hometime and given one snack is different than a child coming for the morning and having snack, using craft supplies, participating in activities like baking. Also if lunch is included it counts differently as does whether child comes to you or you have to go get them at school or take them to school.

I would probably charge more than half. Also as the child gets older they will eat more even at snack. Cut your day in half and add $5.

My part time rate is 70% of my full time rate up to 5 hrs.

I would do about 75% of the full day

I charge $15 for under 5 hours, but my daily rate is only $25.
I would say charge a bit more than half your full day rate.

For 4 hours I would charge $25 but I charge a full day's rate for 4.5 hours or more. My reasoning is that my full day max is 9 hours so less than 4.5 hours is 1/2 a day.
