So I finally found someone to walk my before and after school kids to and from school. Yay! My question is, can I claim that as an expense? How would I go about doing it? Do I type up a receipt type thing and get her to sign it upon payment? What would it be claimed as?

On the form T2125 or I think that is the number that you fill out for the business there is a line for salaries. I always put the amount there that I paid my kids for doing work for me and my daughter earned for filling in if I had an appointment which I often did for her younger sister and/or she used to come home and get the JK child I had and walk him back to school at noon and home after school and I paid her.

But yes to your other question of getting her to sign the piece of paper outlining how much you paid her for doing the service and what it was for so it is clear it was for a daycare child.
