I hate having to terminate, but finally did it, and I just have to say, the difference it has made to my day is unbelievable. The other children are happier, they are napping well finally, since there is no screaming during naptime for hours on end, getting everyone out the door for the school run in the morning is suddenly a pleasant experience, instead of a constant battle over snowpants and hats.
I was really feeling like this job wasn't for me, even though the alternative - trying to find work with decent hours that pays enough to cover daycare and bills - was impossible. Now I feel like I can actually be happy doing this job. My own children are happier now that children are not constantly collapsing into hysterical tantrums all around them. We have a PA day tomorrow and I am not dreading it - we are going to have a pajama day, make playdough, play board games, and it should be a good time!
Just wanted to thank everyone here for letting me vent about my difficult clients, and helping me see that this is MY business, and if things aren't going well, I shouldn't feel guilty about having to make a change.
I have an interview this weekend for spots available now, and another one for a September spot, and am going to make sure that I don't just accept right away for financial reasons - it is worth waiting to make sure that you will gel with the children and frankly, more importantly, the parents and their parenting style.
Wish me luck, and thanks for the support I've found here!
