Parent asking for my business licensing number

At the time of enrollment, after agreeing with all the policies,the parent emails me for my business license number. In the last 8 years of child care experience, I have never been asked for this kind of information before, don't know how to react :mad:

You don't have to have one. You can choose to, but if you keep to the numbers stipulated by your province for private home daycare, you are not required to be a registered business. Were they accusatory about it? As in, they think you need to have it?

They could be asking for tax purposes. I have a business number and i have only ever given it to one family. Actually, the family asked me for my SIN originally so they could do their taxes and i told them i don't give it out, just my B#. They claim their accountant needed it to do their taxes, so i told them that my accountant told me only to ever give out my B# for business purposes and they can contact each other for clarification. Family said ok and took my B# and i never heard about it again.
