In relation to my previous thread (Client Changing schedule...) They have not yet responded to my initial email requesting signed agreement to new contract, have not paid me for the next two weeks of care and they are late. I don't even know if they are going to show up today! I am thinking a letter may be written up today.... (But I love this child so much! I don't want to lose "Ryley" <of course not true name ;) >...)

Ugh, that would frustrate and annoy me big time! It is so disrespect able!

I just had my first issue with payment last Friday. I had a mom pay cash in the morning but said she was $10 short and would bring it at pickup. I didn't think anything of it and said sure. Pickup time came, no money. Monday morning came, no money....just excuses every time. My policy is....not paid, your child doesn't stay (for $10 I wasn't going to enforce this because I thought she'd bring it) and if it happens twice, your care will be terminated. I'm not dealing with a late fee and I'm not messing around. If you don't/can't pay your dc bill than goodbye. I wrote up a letter stating that she breached the contract and if it happens once more they will have 2 weeks to find new daycare and all money owed will need to be paid. She wasn't happy about it, blamed her husband and said "I had full intentions to pay you in full"....well intentions don't pay my bills! I actually kinda hope she has another issue so that I have grounds to terminate our contract!

I think I am pretty flexible compared to others I have heard about in my area but if you aren't going to respect me than I will not take any crap from you. Had she even apologized for not paying in full I would have considered not writing her up! She has an entitled attitude and never takes responsibility for her mistakes (it's always someone or something's fault) and that doesn't sit well with me.

Sorry, this turned into a rant! I hope your situation gets cleared up quickly!

Yes it's can be so frustrating when you don't know what's going on..... Did you give a dead line for the new contract?

yes I have a deadline and they finally showed up. I told Mom I am advertising and cannot gaurantee child's spot in my care long term. She understood, but does want child to stay in my care. She and child love my daycare, but understand I need to run my business to make the bills :)
