So after my terrible and stressful weekend, I finally had a good day today! I had a family leave last July and the mom texted me this week to set up a visit. I had her son full time and her school age child during holidays when I could. They were an awesome family and I miss them all. It was soooo nice to get the text and know that they still think of me. It was actually her youngest who asked her if they could come for a visit...so sweet! He was almost 3 when he left last year. Mom is on holidays now so they were able to come by for a visit during the day. I have 3 daycare children today and one who was here when they were. The 5 kids played so well together and mom and I were able to have a good conversation and catch up with each other.

My first group of parents were just so awesome....they all had older children, respected their dcp and got what dc is all about. They sent appropriate clothing, followed all policies etc. I've had fantastic parents for the most part but the first group was definitely my favourite! They almost never gave me any grief and I was never stressed with them! lol. Oh I miss the early days...hah!

Do you enjoy when past families stay in contact? (email, text, visits)

Yes !! But I had total opposite situation where dcf ( mom , kids and yet another new boyfriend ) were like avoiding me !! It made me ticked ! So I walked up and said hi , made small talk ! The family left due to non payment . My family leaving for kindergarten invited dd and I to dcg birthday ! And dcg , who is turning 3 says because I love you miss C and so does my mom !! lol
I'm glad you had an awesome visit !! It shows you must be a great provider !!!

That would annoy me too if a family was avoiding me! lol. That is super cute what the almost 3 year old said though!

It just feels nice to know that they appreciate us. I know they will all have to leave eventually but it's nice to stay in touch for a bit. I keep my business and personal life very separate but I do love when they want to come for a visit or send an email with an update of their life. I've had a few who were fantastic and I know they appreciated me but once they're gone they usually don't stay in contact. Life is busy and it moves on but it's nice to know that a year later, they still want to visit.

This is my first ,"outside work ," function . I too do not like to mix work but I figured they are leaving end of July ..... The mom wants us to stay friends and let the kids have play dates as their 5 yr old son loves playing with my dd . I sat my dd down to explain he was going to leave and dd says ,"oh good ! He's annoying !" Not exactly the reaction I was expecting !! Lol

I had a girl leave last Sept because she aged out of my daycare. She came a couple of times this year to visit. Also, I had dc girls that live down the road from me who I bump into occasionally. They're getting so big they were my first dc kids and are great kids!
