I have recently started taking my group of three two year old boys out for long 1 1/2 to 2 hour walks in the mornings. We stop for picnic snack and a story, sing songs along the way, and just explore and ramble around.
Inevitably someone does a #2 so we stop to change diapers... I lay a big towel on the ground and individual change mat, bag up the dirty diaper, and clean my hands with sanitizer after.
We will be starting toilet training with my son soon and probably the other little guys too.
Just wondering if anyone else has advice or tips on managing toileting outside... #1 seems like a no brainer, what little boy doesn't like to pee in the woods... But I'm a bit stuck on #2. Besides carrying a portable potty

I use a portable potty - the Potette Plus.

It folds up so doesn't take up much space and you can put a grocery bag in it to collect the unmentionables, so no mess.

I have used it a whole bunch and really like it.

Soon it will be cold and than winter and too cold to change outside. It will be a good time to focus on potty training inside.

That's what I would do anyways

Yes, wasn't even thinking about the weather. Just start doing it indoors when it gets cold and you will be spending way more time outside anyway. And just make it part of the routine to have them sit on the potty before they get dressed for outside.

I have one dcg that is almost finished potty training and all the rest are potty trained. So it is just part of the routine that we don't leave the house until everyone has gone. But I always take my portable potty with me if we are going far from the house, because someone almost always has to go when we are out.

Thanks, great suggestion for the portable potty. I am in Victoria so our weather stays pretty good all winter. I'll definitely consider getting one of these potties for our walks.
