I know that the leads for each area worked so hard, forking out money from their own pockets for printing, refreshments and entertainment amongst other things, staying up late making signs and constantly calling local MPP's and the media. Thank you to everyone who put in the time and work for this day of action. I travelled 30 minutes to my closest location. It was great to see so many people there, including daycare families but I am outraged and very disappointed that their was no rep for Niagara Region and that upon contacting other providers they have no interest in taking any kind of action....I know of multiple people who reached out to Niagara with resounding rejection. So sad considering Niagara's level of poverty compared to most of the rest of the province and how this region of all places will feel the impact of this bill should it pass as is and result in childcare fees spiking.

I found it interesting to talk face to face to multiple providers who while fighting this bill are not anti bill 10 which I think is important. I don't think it should be scrapped, just seriously amended. I was also shocked and outraged on the amount of conversations I had with people who tried to defend their decision to "occasionally" go over ratio. Many an opinion was that who are we to judge how many children a provider can care for, but I was quick to remind them that that wasn't the point. The fact was that even over ratio by 1 child for 1 hour leaves every child in their care uninsured! People made no effort to hide that they broke the law from time to time either. Considering these providers didn't know me from Jack....I could have been anyone.

Also hearing comments like how they want Bill 10 to be scrapped because they have a pool lol clearly that is a major factor but reason enough to have no form of update to the current childcare act!?! lol Nought as queer as folk.

We had a great turnout in Oakville, about 50 people! I don't live in Oakville but since it was the closest location, my husband and I made the 30 minute drive. Garfield Dunlop (the PC education critic, who has been standing up for us at the legislature) was there!

Did anything end up happening in Toronto? I didn't hear anything. I had a baby shower that day so I was not able to go anyways but it wasn't advertised that I knew of.
