Does anyone here has had experience with this? A dcg was diagnosed with Pityriasis Rosea (it looks like skin rash). There is not much info on the internet. What I found is that it is supposed to be viral, but not highly contagious. It is supposed to go away in 4 to 8 weeks. How would you manage this with the family and the care?

It doesn't sound serious, just uncomfortable and according to Web MD, doesn't pass from person to person. The child (with Dr. clearance) would be welcome to come and I would apply any ointment if provided. If the child is so uncomfortable that they can't participate or are opening their skin then I would talk to the parents about keeping them home until the symptoms became more manageable.

We have service here 811 to call and speak with nurse/doctor and get information. I called.

They said not contagious. Take while to clear up. Unlikely this kid will ever get again once it go. Likely get super itchy if kid gets warm like under blanket at nap time or running but view it like psoriasis - skin condition, not catching, just not very pretty.

No need to exclude from care, nothing to manage. Kid might be given cream to help with symptoms until it clear up.

I read the link. It does say can be harmful to pregnancy so I would advise other parents in the event someone is pregnant.

I read that as being harmful to those who are pregnant and have the illness. So any pregnant moms would not be at risk as it is not communicable.
