I've been asked to take a teachers child. Never have. How do you handle the summer mths? There's no way I could live off of one less child for two mths. And there's no way I can fill the spot with another child for only two mths. What do you do? Pay full rate to have their spot again in sept? Pay half? Even getting half might b hard :(

Hi there! I know where I live there are 3 ways daycare providers handle the teachers schedule.

Option One- they have to pay regardless if they are there or not to hold their spot
Option Two- they have to pay half of the weekly rate when their child is not in care
Option Three- teachers don't have to pay for summers, Christmas break or march break but they pay a higher weekly fee (I do this one)

hope this helps :)

How much higher of a wkly rate?
And do they know they have a higher rate compare to other clients?

$5/day extra and no they don't know they have a higher rate compared to other clients, but if you choose to tell them let them know if they want to pay a lesser daily rate they can't have that many vacation days as the whole point of charging a little bit higher is to compensate for the days missed
