Good morning! I am posting for a member who has the following question

Hi everyone! I am just looking for some advice on how to tell parents that I am expecting! I only have one family to tell but I'm not sure how or when to do it. Mom does drop off (kiss and go) and Dad does pick up. Should I try to arrange a meeting to tell them both together, just tell Dad at pick up when there is more time to chat, email them??? Thanks for any advice!

You could tell them in an email. Do you do Update-Newsletter style emails ever? Make sure you are clear on what your plan is it can help parents feel less put out if you have solid plan in place.

I waited until I knew what I would be doing in regards to time off. And then I told them by email.

I sent out an early edition of the monthly newsletter that I hand out.
BUT: I made sure I knew exactly what the plan was in regards to time off, backup care, etc. If parents ask questions, they don't want to hear "ummmm, I am not sure yet"!!
PS> Congratulations!!
