Hello all,
I am just wondering how many of you are sending out letters to your clients about bill 10 and a price increase because of it. I am looking at changing up my guidelines about pt spots and ft spots. I currently have a client who is only 4 days a week for an under 2 spot. I would like to tell them that due to bill 10 my under 2 aged clients are now required to be ft only. I am not quite sure how this will sit but I feel since its going to be my main income seeing as an over 2 is so hard to fill I don't really want to give away that extra income. Especially when I now have a waiting list of 3 kids who want an under 2 spot and are willing to go ft for it. I am looking for some advice or how to word it in a letter than things are changing, any advice would be great, thanks in advance

What does your contract say for you giving notice to end care? How many weeks notice do you need to give.

I would write up a letter. Simply note that due to Bill 10 placing more limits on the children you can care for you spots for children under age 2 are now full time only, for X dollars a day as of _____ (give the date in accordance with your required notice period). Tell them they get first dibs on keeping the spot they currently use part time if they sign the new contract stating new price and full time status as of ___ set date.

If they want the spot they will sign to keep it, if not fill it with a waiting family.

Simply note you apologize for the changes but they are out of your control as set by the new laws.
