Phase 2 Regs are up (CCEYA) - Ontario providers

Phase 2 of the new childcare regulations are up for public comment. Please take some time to read the document and leave comments as this is what shapes childcare in all facets in Ontario. Give the ministry something to take back and discuss as this is what shapes the industry you work in.

As a side note, the 1:25 ratio (Home visitor to provider) for agency care has been lifted and left open. THIS is what CICPO spent the past year fighting for. This is what will bring agency fees way, way down for providers who wish to become licenced. This is not to say that everyone needs to licence. It simply makes it a viable option for those who wish to. It's always nice to have options. So get in there and have your say! Take your place in your childcare system.

Thanks for posted. I've only skimmed it so far (way too much brain power needed to read in full lol) but interesting! I find the changes in toddler rooms to 1:4 ratio interesting. Trying to envision what what seems like a small change will do to centers. Especially after just cutting so many toddler (under 2) spaces from home daycares.

Ok read more. That is a LOT of proposed changes for daycare centers. Very interesting read.
