Hi - a stomach bug is going around schools and now in my DC with one child gone. In my contract I have fees due if child away. But if I'm closed because of my illness I don't charge a fee.
Do I then stop charging fee for absent ill child if I become ill and closed say the 2nd day the ill child is still absent? It hasn't happened yet but stomach bugs r sooo contagious and wondered what to do if? TX!
Edit - auto correct messed up the title on this and I don't know how to correct! Should read ' Both Dck and Myself Ill Fee. '

I would say if your closed then, no fee is due. Since this is what you have written. It dose not mater if child is sick or well your not open. It would not be fair to charge the parent of the kid sick and not other parents.

This has happened to me before. Child was sick the day before so paid as I was open but then next day I was sick and closed. I didn't charge any of the parents.
I try to treat these situations like how I'd want to be treated if I was in their shoes. I know it's hard to lose money but I'd be hurt if I was a parent and found out I was being charged when I shouldn't be, according to the contract. I'd feel taken advantage of and may even consider a new provider. I think the damage done by these kind of actions could hurt me in the long run more than just a days lost pay. If that makes sense...

Yes that makes sense. I hadn't really thought it thru but if no other parent paying as I'd be closed then all parents deserve same. TX!

Very straight-forward.
If you close = no fees. Not matter if daycare child sick, healthly, happy or sad. Contact say if you closed, no fees so that all that matter. If it happens that daycare child not well, that just way it goes. Client get lucky break this time around.
the parent of the sick kid will sing your praises to her friends when she hears she does not have to pay for the 2nd sick day after all- get better soon
