View Full Version : A Baby died
A Baby died in a home daycare in BC by strangling himself with the wires from the sound monitor that were within reach from the child's crib- so sad and so preventable - Better to double check on what is within the children's reach at nap time

So sad. In the years I have been doing hdc, only two parents checked out sleeping rooms. The other parents didn't care to see where child naps

So sad :( as babes get bigger they can reach more, so you need constant vigilance. My own toddler surprised me by reaching through her crib to a laundry basket, I came in to her sleeping on a huge mound of clothes.

I can't believe it - not seeing the nap room, oh well at least you are on top of the situation

Its odd the provider didn't hear child messing with the wires. Monitors are so sensitive especially when touched. And if gets disconnected makes static noise. Provider must have had it turns real low or off.
That's true . they are not charging her with anything as far as I know.
she was renting and now has moved as reporters went to the house and the landlord didn't know where she was.

Its a really sad news. Yes I think this was preventable and little babies need constant vigilance.
