Client's bad driving

I have a daycare parent who runs late for work every morning, and drives down my quiet street too fast for the speed limit, and then reverses into my driveway like a maniac, almost hitting some other kids on my street who are walking to school. Do you think I have a right to ask this parent to slow down or pull in the driveway forwards so they can see where they are going? I'm surprised no one has been hit so far, or my car parked on the other spot in my driveway. I know it sounds anal, but it's crazy, not to mention the parent's own 3 yr old is in the car. Would I be overstepping my bounds to ask them to slow down/pull in forwards?

Tough one, and I suspect you will get many different views on this. As much as it is your house and your street etc. I don't know that a non-home based company would be out correcting their clients driving, nor would they be responsible for any damage/accidents their clients cause on their property.

My first thought would be...a person driving recklessly likely isn't a person who will take driving 'advice' to heart, or even well. So, if you bring this up are you prepared for a confrontation, or a parent that just ignores your advice and continues?

As much as it sucks if they schmuck your car...it is on them to pay to fix it. It is the consequence to their poor driving. Obviously, their hitting a child isn't quite as easy as paying to fix your car.

Ugh, always my fear too. If u have a daycare newsletter I'd mention it in there. Some of my parents drive over speed limit and slam on brakes to get into my driveway at closing time. .... no one backs in though and I don't know how that really saves time.
