Darleen Blakely

Hi I am a home maker and mother of two grown children. I attend local craft shows and farmers markets. My craft name is Dar's Pin's and Things! I'm known to everyone as the pin lady. I always give pins to children especially to show them that they are special and to thank them for behaving for their parents. When I volunteered at a school in Belleville I taught kids how to read by making them the alphabet out of plastic canvas. It makes me feel like a made a difference. Teaching children how to find themselves and learning how to create whether with pencil, planting a garden, knitting/ crocheting or just maybe reading a book makes me feel like I have a purpose in life. I hope to maybe be able to take in a few children to be able to give them a safe place to learn and grow while their parents are out to make a good life for them.
