Homework Polices
I am updating my before/after school care policies.
I wanted to include a section for homework and was wondering what everyone ekse has or if they even have one.
I have done school care before, but parents expected their child to do homework while at the dayhome and expected me to help. When I have 4-5 other kids in care I found it didn't work well, plus I feel that it is the parents responsiblity to help their child with their homework, check it etc...
Any help on the wording would be great

I don't do homework with daycare kids. It's WAY too much with the other little ones here. The kids are welcome to work on anything they want while they're here, but I don't monitor, nor can I offer help. I am clear about this. Homework is for home. :)

I think it depends on how long the kids are with you after school. Remind parents that kids need a downtime too so been in school all day, come to daycare have snack and play/veg out. Then they can do homework when they get home if picked up early or have some time to work on homework at daycare but must be work done independently.
I think too it depends on if you have your own school age children and what you expect from them. If they are expected to start their homework right away then it makes sense to set up a work area and let them get to it including the daycare kids while you take the little ones to a different area.
