There aren't any 'steps' to follow.
You'll want to read up on Bill 10 to know the new daycare laws. Create a contract. Advertise. Find families. Open your doors.
If you were licensed there would be official steps to follow the only thing you need to do as an unlicensed daycare provider is to make sure you are awake of and in compliance with Bill 10.
The rest is up to you to determine what you want for your home daycare. Use this site to find helpful information, look at old posts about contracts and advertising and interviews to help get ideas.
it sounds so easy in Ontario than in BC
we have to get in touch with the city and they come out to inspect your house to see if it is suitable for daycare and they the fire dept come out to check to see if it is fire proof and then the Health License person comes out to see how many is allowed for the space you have going with 3.7 sq metres per child and because you applied for a lic the license inspector will visit you any time to check up on Ratio of children and the fire extinguisher and a of of other things too like the nap room
