Another email from Lisa MacLeod on Bill 10

You have been adamant in your support for parental choice in childcare and for parental responsibility. I share those views.

Over the last two days there have been public hearings at Queen’s Park on the Liberal’s Bill 10 - Child Care Modernization Act. The Bill would significantly limit parental choice in childcare, risk 140,000 childcare spaces and make childcare 30-40% more expensive in Ontario. As well, the Ontario NDP put forward a motion supporting a nationalized childcare system, similar to what former Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin espoused in the 2006 federal election. I oppose both Bill 10 and the motion that Ontario and Canada should move toward a nationalized and institutionalized form of childcare.
