    Reasonable prices

So as it is close to tax time I am in need of an accountant. Today I spoke to one that is asking for almost $500. Is this a reasonable price. I find it a bit pricy.

That seems waaaaay too pricey to me. I would shop around!
Don't take my word for it, but as far as I know, for a self employed person, it should be closer to $300, give or take. And if you can get an accountant who works privately (as opposed to at H&R, etc) it's usually less.

In Toronto it's about $200 - $300 depending on the extend of your return
