    Daycare budget

    Hello everyone,

For comparison purposes, would you mind giving us a rough picture of your daycare budget? Is it hard to stick to it?

I usually take one of my children's payments and make that the amount I can put into activities for the month - craft supplies, new toys, etc. That leaves the rest of the money towards household expenses and my income. It's hard to set a budget since many of the expenses are things we would be doing anyways like paying hydro and for other expenses it is a portion of the amount spent such as groceries. Again things like consumables - food, paper towels, toilet paper, should not exceded the income from one child. That leaves 3 children to cover the household expenses. In times when I have an opening the money goes towards the household and groceries and I add less new things to the environment.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
