I do that too playfelt. I talk to the child but really my message is going to the parent. Some would call that passive agressive but it really works like a subliminal message.
LOL sometimes there is nothing wrong with passive aggressive if it gets the job done
Children construct their own intelligence. The adult must provide activities and context, but most of all must be able to listen. Children need proof that adults believe in them. Their three great desires are to be listened to, to understand, and to demonstrate that they are exactly what we expect."
Personally if a child thinks it's okay to hit me then they would be DONE. And WTH is with the parent seeing him hit you and nothing happens? Sorry, but if a child hits the caretaker then, IMO, that child has some serious chaos in their brains to think that they are in charge to that level of hitting you.
I figiure it isn't my job to raise the parent it is my job to help raise the child. That means helping them to grow up, mature, learn, etc. in spite of their parents.
Yup, I do that all the time.... "Johnny, I know that you know that we DON'T use our yelling voice in the house." really means "Control your child, please".
If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
