    Yeah, I would only give the heads up if they are brand new or "bubble wrap" parents. Then I would ask if they want me to let them know when this stuff happens or if the end of the day works.

    If there is an injury, I email parents during nap time, explaining the situation, how, when etc...

    If after nap, I just tell them at pick up.

    If it is a bad injury, I will have them sign an accident report form

    The only time I called for an injury even though the child was fine after was a 2 year old who got a black eye unsure: I don't even remember now what happened, but I did want to give them a heads up on that one.
    Otherwise, unless they're sick or injured to the point that they need to go home I don't call..
