To a certain extent I think it is the parent hoping that the kid isn't as sick as they seem. They may think ok the child is just a little sleepy still and will wake up as the day goes on. What they don't want to do is take off a day that isn't necessary thinking if they do it today then tomorrow the child might be really sick and it not be up for debate but don't want to take two days so they cross their fingers and hope. Getting a call while at work to go home to a sick child looks better to the boss than calling in sick two days in a row. If Tylenol gets child through till nap then the worst that happens is they get a call to come an hour early at the end of the day. I get their reasoning.

I'm the kind that would accept a child given Tylenol with the understanding that if I call they must come and if child can muddle through till nap than we just cope with the day. Better to have a child feeling iffy be given Tylenol just like we might take some at the first hint of a headache rather than wait till it was full blown and we were miserable.

jec left quite a number of months ago if I recall, maybe longer. I think she just checks in periodically as a guest so I am sure she will check in at some point.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
