Mine is by space. If you show up at my door and use time you pay for the day. My rationale is that if the child is just there for the morning they take part in snack, lunch and craft - ie everythign that costs money as afternoon is naptime and then outside. So goign home at noon costs me the same in expenses as if the child stayed till 5pm.

I'm 4 hours. Anything over that is full time rate. And anything 4 hours or less is part time rate. So, if I have a transition baby and they are only here for an hr, it's the PT rate.

I would say regardless of nap. There's no guarentee that child will nap and you're still fully responsible for them while they're in your home.

I count anything over 5 hours as a full day rate
My workday is usually 10 days so anything past half wouldn't qualify for the half day rate

I would charge a full day's rate. Six hours is still a decent amount of time, so I think it would only be fair to charge a full day's rate. I currently have a dck who is only in my care for 6 hours and I charge the full day rate and the parents were fine with it.

Having my daycare in QC I feel like I"m in another country sometimes here Around here, if they walk through my door....they pay the same price. 7-5 or 9-11. They're here at some point, they pay for the day. Of course thanks to the gov't they pay very little and the gov't signs the rest of my cheque....
But, yeah, they're taking a spot and keeping you from taking another child on, so I believe they should have to pay....

I have a client who use 9am-3pm most days, so 6 hours and yes, they pay full fees. I have a maximum 9 hour day so 4.5 hours or under is a 1/2 day. Thankfully, I don't have anyone who needs 1/2 days right now because I hate them - so disruptive!

    My hours are 7:00-5:30
I have a client who is here 8:00-3:00/3:30......they pay FT $. There are days dad has picked up dck during naps (which I hate...but dad texts me and after I wake dck up we play out front until dad arrives so the others stay sleeping) so he'd show up aroung 2pm...full day rate.

I've never had a 4hr day to be honest so I can't answer on that part...I'd LIKE to have it being full rate lol

I suppose it could be up to you. I would consider it a full day rate. You can't fill "around" that spot, or you aren't likely too, anyway.
BUUUUUT.... if you want a bit of a shorter day, and you feel like that would be the only thing that will keep that family from signing on, I might give a slight discount. Not half the fee or anything, but maybe $10 less?

For hours like that I charge $5/hour as the kid sleeps for half the time they are with me.
