The first thing I do is try to determine if it is really a need or a learned behavioiur. If it is a real need then I work with the parents on the plan they use at home and as much as possible do the same at daycare. At the same time realizing a different environment may mean the child will react differently. If it is just a perceived need on the part of the child then they learn very quickly they will have to meet their own needs. In 25 years of daycare I have gotten pretty good at ignoring crying for the sake of crying vice crying for a purpose.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
