I've said and felt this exact same thing!! I would BEG for my daughter to stay up later when I was working...I'd get home at 6/6:30 make dinner then bathe her and she'd want to sleep at 7:30/8 and was so sad...only 1hr with my baby each night was NOT enough!

I find that this is the most challenging thing in our industry!! I feel like saying:

[QUOTE=kidlove;21049] In SOME cases I feel like telling the parent "maybe you should spend a little more time with your child after you get home from work, play outside go for a walk. then put them to bed after they have gotten a little extra love from mom and dad. Parents have their (one/couple/few) child/children some of the time and THEY feel exhausted. I have 8 children from different families all day long and care for my own family after 10 hours of work too!! WE'RE ALL TIRED!!
I had one 4 year old child tell me how upset she was because she never sees mommy...breaks my heart

i here you there ceECE. I love the fact I GET TO love all these kids while the parents work and totally understand they have to work, not judging!!! BUT, when they pick their kids up after work, alot of times will make a comment of, "hurry up, mommy's had a long day" or "when we get home, mommy is going to lay on the couch, I have a headache". OR the kid totally misbehaves for parent when they pick-up (because in the childs twisted little world, any attention is better than none) and the parent says, "well, I guess its dinner and straight to bed", just erks me when moms respond that way to the child that has been waiting all day...all week, to spend time with them!

Sounds like she may be coming down with something too!! When my kids want to sleep, I let them sleep. It may be selfish, but the more I have sleeping, the less I have to keep entertained lol
