Sorry I should have been more clear. I take my holidays when ever I want- I took 2.5 weeks this year and picked the days/weeks that my family and I wanted. I just inform my daycare families so they can be aware to get family or make other arrangements to get their little one looked after if they choose.
My daycare families also can take an additional 2 weeks of their own, unpaid as long as they give me 2 weeks notice. I'm just trying to be proactive to see if any are taking time off around the holidays.

I used to take a survey of the time off each family needed, and then stay open the days with the highest attendance. I did it not for them, but for ME, as I wanted to work the days that I would receive the highest income, didn't want to work a day just for one kid.
