Pool party etiquette

Maybe I'm under- protective ( is that a word?) first I would never let my 2 or 3 yr old go to a pool party.... My 4.5 yr old went to one this summer I put a life jacket on her and off she went . The dad was in the pool, the mom was on the side and gramma was watching whom ever was not swimming. My son went to one this summer also and he is 7.5 and pretty much same thing dad was in the pool, mom on the side, and uncles(I'm assuming) were extra eyes. I'm not a paranoid parent, (I hope that doesn't make me a bad parent), I'm pretty laid back !

. OMGosh not at all. I think that I'm just paranoid!

asking for a life jacket is also a good idea for a non experienced swimmer, bottom line though.....nobody wants "casualties" at a birthday party. If the kids not a good swimmer, their should be extra eyes on that child, it takes seconds to drowned.

Dont forget to make sure EVERYTHING else is set up ahead of time, food and such. Birthday parties are always frazzling for the parent throwing them, maybe have your suit on under clothes if your not swimming....ready to jump in if needed. can you tell, I AM extra protective?

. Yes, great idea, for sure...and I usually do. They are sooo stressful, for sure!!! Not to mention, everyone in our 6 person family are summer babies...sucks for the budget!
