Thats when you know you have an affect on kids hay? When they go home and start running a "tight ship" like the day care lady. too cute.

Yup ~ have had a couple parents also chuckle that their child chastised them for not eating all the 'healthy portion of dinner' before eating dessert

ETA ... this makes me laugh cause I do not serve dessert ~ our dessert is the fruit serving

Children construct their own intelligence. The adult must provide activities and context, but most of all must be able to listen. Children need proof that adults believe in them. Their three great desires are to be listened to, to understand, and to demonstrate that they are exactly what we expect."

I spend my whole day putting the blocks over in one area, the books on the couch, the cars on the parking garage, the dolls in the buggy, the dishes in the shopping cart and so on and so on. Sometimes when I get way too busy with things I freak out a bit and tell the children it's cleanup time NOW, but usually I'm just running around organizing bit by bit as they play. Seriously, they have the attention span of gnats!

I too have the policy that we must clean up the first mess before going onto the next one…. makes my life and theirs so much more enjoyable. I too have them singing the tidy up song even before they are asked to tidy up …. kids love to be praised for their efforts….. and this way they don't get overwhelmed with the huge job of cleaning up several different toys at once.
I have the policy that the small cars can only be used during nap time when the babies are asleep, or when they are in their seats away from the tiny wheels, the kids understand the importance of making sure they are safely out of the babies reach, my kids were always making sure every car was in the parking garage when it was time for clean up!! Once you set the routine in place they will do it on their own eventually. It might take a few days but be consistent and it will happen for you. Tell them the consequence of not tidying up the cars ex: throwing them out or taking them away for a few days and they will tidy up faster than you think!!! Good luck

A lot of people refer to the Porsche 550 as a Porsche 550 as a “death car", because James Dean got killed in one. That is no death car at all, as nothing comes even close to the Mercedes-Benz 600 Grosser, the preferred chariot for many of the world's most ferocious dictators.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
