    Social site

If anyone is interested, my husband made a small social site and wants to get some people on for testing. It is only for daycare providers. It is kind of like a facebook sort of thing. The site is www.idaycaresocial.com and in order to confirm you are a daycare provider, and keep us safe from anyone else, he just wants an email with some info. It's not about taking anyone away from any site, I know I use multiple sites myself and so do a lot of my friends. It can be just an other place to meet people.

Sounds like a nice idea. There are so few Canadian sites with info for Canadian providers including where to buy stuff, who to exchange stuff with, how to comply with the rules for our province/revenue canada etc.

LOL ~ yes there are more and more options out there for networking these days which is a huge cry from decade ago when there was nothing ~ I myself have had to wean my focus back to just a couple networking sites that meet different needs for me cause you only have so much time in the day for networking and the reality is that before you know it the Internet can suck up a lot of your time if you are not a quick reader or typer

I love the idea of having a more 'private' place where people cannot 'lurk' the site without being signed in as member as it is always nice to discuss more personal issues that may arise in childcare that you would not want to share on an open forum such as this one and being able to find a local group of providers where you can share challenges and resources about your specific community as well as arrange in person networking and play dates and so forth really does help to raise the bar in programs as well reduce isolation and feeling of being 'alone in things' that is common for home childcare providers!

Good luck with your new site

Tried to have a little 'boo' over on it .... one suggestion I would offer is that 'terms of use' should be viewable BEFORE having to send your information to sign up so that people know what they are 'agreeing to' with joining the site as this might determine if people are able to meet those terms or not?

    Children are great imitators.
So give them something great to imitate.
