I always do interviews outside of daycare hours. I don't feel it's safe to invite a stranger into teh daycare while I am here alone with the kids. Aside from that, it is very hard to focus on talking to the parents while trying to watch the other kids and things can get a bit chaotic...kids tend to act up when they know you are not paying full attention.

Exactly this! I only hold interviews on evening or weekends. The very very odd time I will hold 1 during my nap time if I only have 1 or 2 kids here but it is always a time where I can focus 100% on the familiy I'm meeting with.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
