I let one of my client go before even starting.
We signed the contract 3 months ago and they suppose to start within a week but it looked to me that I m going no where with this family so I told them what I think. And they agreed and left. She was a bit disturbed but it is not my fault in fact, it was her fault that she didn't follow the routine we have here and I'm not going to entertain their emotional difficulties. If you want your child to be in my care then I'm afraid you have to follow my rules. They were a nice family though but i didnt wanted a child who is already spoiled is not what I'm looking for
After I told them that they should look elsewhere, I felt light and happier and now my days are full of laughter and fun again.

Expansive...
What were the problems you were having?

Sometimes it just doesn't work out!! I am having a horrible time connecting with a new little guy here and somedays I dream of replacing him as bad as that may sound! Hopefully, you find someone (and they find someone!) who is a better match.

Agree with Lou, not all, are a "perfect" fit! They might find the next provider to work better and agree with their crazy ways! Good for you for recognizing fast and taking action, so many of us give it one chance, then two, then three, then four...by the time we DO let go....it's not a very pretty situation. Move on!

Dodge, I don't know which one to write here but all the red flags you can think of was there I felt sorry for them for putting them into this situation themselves but I need my sanity.
I can work with difficult children but I can not work with over protective, " I have read all the parenting books so i know everything " type of parents.
By the way, they are not going with any day homes or day cares now

Hahhahaha kidlove, I have moved on the moment I decided to let them go I don't stress myself over these kind of things. As I always say in my posts I need my sanity, if I'm upset I will upset people around me too and I have no right to do that!

Totally agree, at the end of the day.....you have to enjoy what you do or it's not worth it! that's why I quit my job to do this....so, the way I always see it is....no "money" is worth the stress free life I have with out all the Yucky People! good for you!

Cocoon, can I borrow your backbone please? Good for you for taking care of yourself. I have a family in care that I know must go very soon. I haven't had to terminate anybody since my first year in business and I'm having a hard time. But I'm really happy for you.
