NEEEEED TO VENT!!!! My carpet is getting ruinned!!!!
My carpet is literally getting ruined by a 7 mo old baby girl!!!! She vomits at the drop of a hat. After feeding her I place her in a bouncie seat, to help her tummy settle for about an hour. Every once in a while when I hold her a dif way or have to bend over to pick something up or help another child, wammo! all over my cream colored carpet! I have little "dark" spots all over my living room from spit ups from this child. I have always rented a industrial vac/steamer to clean about twice a year, but this kid is WRECKING my carpets in the mean time. Just finished feeding her and the phone rang, couldnt get to it in time, them they call on my cell, so I think..."somethings wrong"....lay the baby on the floor for 1 minute to grab the phone and ......BLAAAAAA! about an ounce and a half all over my floor. Starting to look like a "crack house" around here. I am a tidy person and the dirty floors are killing me. Talking to husband about hard wood floors TONIGHT!!!!! thanks for listening....AHHHHHH H!

There is some cleaning stuff that works really, really well at stain removal. The one I used was called 'Out' but there are others. They're available at pet stores for removal of animal related stains. They contain active enzymes that 'eat' organic matter....totally fine to use with kids in the house. I've used these forever. It actually worked on a red wine stain that had been in my carpet for years. Once you get your stains out, get yourself an area rug to use whilst she's still having her belly issues. Sounds like she's got reflux and is a 'happy spitter'....went through this with my nephew. Don't worry, it'll pass

Oh my world my carpet ruined on Monday by 7 months old too! He actually poop. His mum was very apologetic and offered me to buy a new one and wash the carpet. Of course I said no to both. She is my friend and I know it was an accident

Cream colored carpet AND a daycare....you are a brave brave woman . I too have carpet, my daycare playroom is in the basement...but we decided to use carpet tiles...love them. I bought tons of extras at the time and if I can't get a stain out just put another one down. Question, temporarily is there some kind of area rug you could put over your cream rug while daycare is in session. I have those foam playmats over my carpet tiles in the 'danger zones'...diaper changing area, eating area, craft area etc.
Children are great imitators.
So give them something great to imitate.

Starting to feel at home...
I swear by a product that PetSmart carries - it's called Nature's Miracle. It does a fantastic job of deodarizing all the "icky" smell that can often remain after you clean up the mess. =) Would it be worthwhile trying to keep this little one on a quilt or some other blanket when she's on the floor ? Obviously, as she gets older and more mobile this will not work so well (hopefully by then though, she'll have outgrown the vomitting) but it might save your carpets in the interim - much easier to wash quilts than carpets. =) Keep an eye on the frequency of the vomitting as it may be something that Mum should discuss with the child's pediatrician. She (the child) may need an anti-reflux medication - my own daughter was on one for her first year, and it made a huge difference in her ability to keep formula down. =)

Norwex sells a product called carpet stain buster and it works amazing and best of all it's chemical free so you dont have to worry about the little ones crawling and getting their hands in it and then putting hands in their mouth. I have most of the norwex products .... My three favorites .... Window cloth... Dryer balls .... Toothbrush ....

Starting to feel at home...
Oh my gosh! I'm in the exact same spot as you! My stubborn husband, however, refuses to do hardwood floors! Oh well, I guess it's for the best since carpet gives a softer landing for the little ones anyhow.

Love the Nature's Miracle stuff suggested. Leaves a nice smell. Worked great in the laundry on my son's grass stained soccer shorts too. Safe to use around pets and kids.
At 7 months what about just using a play yard with a quilt on the bottom that would be thick enough to absorb whatever was spit up but then could be tossed in the laundry and a clean one put down. At least it would confine the mess and keep it away from the other kids too.
I agree on the suggestion to get the doctor involved and to test the possibility of meds as a solution because this sounds beyond the norm.

I thought I'd be able to have nice things once my kids were grown a little... then I opened a home daycare. HA! I don't think I'll ever have nice things.

Nature's Miracle is good stuff. The product I mentioned before is actually better, believe it or not. I used to run a kitten rescue and rehab and also bottled raised some baby raccoons, so I know my animal stink removers. There are a few good products and Nature's Miracle is way up there. But if you can find "Out" it is actually quite a bit more effective.....in my experience. I'm not sure if it's still on the market, but is a loss if it's not. Also for stains, OxiClean is good too....even the cheaper, generic brand is good. My dog ate 3 lbs of chocolate while I was in Puerto Rico. Kids cleaned up 20 vomit accidents with it....worked pretty well
