Not what you want to hear at drop-off

So, at drop-off this morning one mom tells me: "he puked through the night" How nice! She said that he has eaten too much in the past and vomited at night. He seems fine this morning. And it's true. I do remember her telling me that before...but still! Not music to my ears this morning. I guess it'll be a high disinfecting day!

If he starts puking, I would have mom come pick him up. Not fair to you, if you have to keep cleaning up after him and watch the other children.
With that being said, I hope he doesn't start puking for you. Here's to a good day!

I hear ya. Mom tells me dcb who was last here Tuesday......oh he had watery diarhea Tues and Wed but fine now. O....K? Ten minutes after she leaves he has very loose stools. This is my dcb 3 yrs old, still in diapers and the size of a 5 yr old. He doesn't even fit on my change pad anymore! Anyway, one more bout and I'm calling home.

She said to call right away if anything happens, but doubts it will. Honestly, so do I.... My son was actually like that. He'd puke at night and be fine during the day. He was like that from 2-4. Think it was post-nasal drip, actually. Honey helped a lot!
Mimi that's awful! One more bout...you're patient! Yuck! Too big to be in diapers....yuck.

I would have sent her and dck home. 24 hour no vomiting/dirrhea prior to coming to daycare. I don't care what the reason is. Is she positively sure it's not something else brewing on the horizon? How can she be sure?

I would have turned him away at the door. I have a 24 hour puking policy.

Oh goodness, you're a saint for taking him! I can't risk the other kids and myself and family catching a bug because we're not doctors, and it's not for us to determine why or why not someone has puked. I, too, would have said 'Bye!'.
